Special Needs

Aged, blind or disabled individuals are eligible for the cost of a therapeutic diet in the following situations:

A.  When the nutritional status of the assistance unit requires modification of the normal diet; and

2. When modification of the normal diet is a necessary part of medical care; and

3. When modification of the diet increases the cost of the food budget.

 Aged, blind or disabled individuals are eligible for a clothing allowance:

A.     At the time of application in order to bring the assistance unit's wardrobe up to standard; or

B.     When an active recipient experiences a rapid and significant gain or loss of weight which is the result of a medical condition other than a pregnancy, and requires treatment by a physician, or

C.     When essential clothing is destroyed, stolen or becomes unavailable due to a catastrophic event or the assistance unit would be eligible for emergency housing payments if such assistance were requested.
